In Matthew, Chapter 20, verses 17-19, Jesus tells His disciples that He will be arrested and condemned to death.
Now, as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn Him to death and will turn Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day, He will be raised to life!” [NIV Bible]
And in Mark, Chapter 8, verse 31, He [Jesus] then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that He must be killed and after three days rise again. [NIV Bible]
